We are extremely lucky to be hosting 3 third-year medical students and a resident from A.T. Still this Monday at our meeting. The students will be running a suturing clinic, showing us various knots that are used in surgery. This was so well received last year that we wanted to bring it to you all again. This year’s clinic will run slightly different than last year’s, though.
This year, the med students will be bringing over actual nylon sutures with needles attached, as well as the needle holders. This will give a much more realistic experience when it comes to suturing. The needles are totally real and will be able to stab you, so please be careful.
The plan is to suture bananas. AMSA will be purchasing approximately 60 bananas for this meeting, so it will be first come, first serve. For those of you who eat in the dining hall, grab a banana on your way out and bring it to the meeting.
The meeting will be in MG 2001 at 7pm. Hope to see you all there!
